the Seminary, the last 21 as
Chancellor.
President-elect Dr. Gerson D.
Cohen said Dr. Finkelstein had
"perceived the need and the
passibility of raising a native
generation who will contribute
to the chain of Jewish tradition
in quality and in quantity."
Mrs. Rapaport took issue with
s,hat she called the denigration of
the Jewish mother, who "has
given the world such an inordinate
number of outstanding Jewish sons
and daughters who have taken
their places of leadership in every
field of human endeavor for the
betterment of mankind."

In preparation for its annual
New Books for Old Sale next Sep-
tember, Greater Detroit Chapter
of Brandeis University National
Women's Committee has scheduled
a mass pickup of books 10 a.m.-
2 a.m. Sunday in Southfield and
Oak Park.
Mrs. Frank X. Levine and Mrs.
Charles Schwartz, co-chairmen,
are asking residents in these areas
to leave the books which they wish
to contribute in bags at their doors.
A new drop-off store at 1213
N. Main, Ryal Oak, has been
opened for receiving books every
Tuesday and Thursday, from 9
a.m. to noon. For pick-up service,

PHILADELPHIA—Many Kosher
meat dealers deliver, but S. Lundy
Sons, Inc.. of Philadelphia, is
going out of its way to be accom-
modating. The firm sends regular
shipments to the Phillipines, as
well as Hong Kong and Tokyo.
A recent request from the Phil-
lipines was for some 416 pounds
