Solidarity Day to Be Marked in Lansing

After arrival in Lansing, cars
and buses from the entire state
will gather at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek by 1:30 p.ni. The motor-
cade will then parade to the Capi-
tol where youth groups will pro-
vide Israeli songs and speakers
w ill include Richard H. Austin,
secretary of state: Leon C. Cohan,
deputy attorney general; and dis-
tinguished Jewish and non-Jewish
clergy. Announcement of the to-

Dr. Jack Stanzler, chairman of
the State Solidarity Day commit-
tee, announced that after a meet-
ing in Lansing with outstate repre-
sentation, the April 30 Soviet
Jewry Solidarity Day program has
been set.
In Flint, buses and cars will
gather at noon at the parking lot
of Cong. Beth Israel and will de-
part for Lansing at 12:30. Every-
one is asked to bring a sack lunch. '

Karen Golden, a seventh grader
at Zimmerman School, was hon-
ored an one of the top 10 winners
in the junior division of this year's
Hint Area Science Fair. Jim Ger-
mer and Steve Sorscher were
among the top 21 general winners
in the junior division. In the ele-
mentary division. Matt Aaronson
was a wooer.

Samuel Marc Wapner graduated
last week with a BS degree from
Eastern Michigan University. Ile
will enter the Chicago College of
Optometry in September.

Gary A. Rotenherg was gradu-
ated last week from Eastern Michi-
gan University with a BS degree
in accounting.

Howard Goldin, 48

Howard II Goldin. 5445 Maura.
died April 12 at age 48.
Mr. Goldin was born in Kokoma.
Ind. and resided in Flint for the
last 43 years. He was employed
by the State of Michigan Liquor
Control Commission for 21 years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs.
Evelyn Dollen of Flint and Mrs.
Dorothy Solotar of Foster City.
Calif.; two half s isle r s, Mrs.
Samuel Morgen of Indianapolis
and Mrs. Morris Fleiget of Louis-
ville; nieces and nephews.
