Offered 'to '72-'73 Tourists

NEW YORK—The 25th Israel
anniversary year. which gets un-
der way in September, is expected
to attract nearly 650.000 tourists.
An estimated 43 per cent of the
total will come from the United
States To ensure sufficient room
for the visitors. the ministry of
tourism has called on the people
of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv to make
rooms in private homes available
to tourists.
More than 1.500 persons have al-
ready answered the ministry's call,
and 500 rooms have been approved.
Additional rooms will be added to
the availability list as the 25th an-
niversary year approaches.
Under existing arrangements the
rooms can only be reserved after
a tourist has arrived in the coun-
try. Three offices serve as centers
for the private home accommoda-
tion service One is located at Lod
Airport and is open 24 hours a
day. the other two are located in
the Municipal Tourist Information
Offices at 42 Frishman St. in Tel
Ali ,: and 34 Yafo St. in Jerusalem
and observe normal office hours.
