The Grand Rapids Civic Theater
is rehearsing for its forthcoming
production of "Fiddler on the
Roof. - Th.' play of Thursday.
Former Detroiter Asher Moss has
the lead as Tevye. which he did a
few years ago at Temple Emanu-
El Leonard Brenner will play the
role of the rabbi. The Men's Club
of Ahavas Israel will sponsor a
movie party May 2.

NEW YORK — More than 5,-
pounds of U.S.-donated
Food for Peace supplies were dis-
tributed by the Joint Distribution
Committee during 1971, it was re-
ported by Samuel L. Haber. JDC
executive vice chairman.
Most of the supplies, over
4.000.000 pounds. went to Israel,
Haber said. This included 3,900,000
pounds of flour and 132.000 pounds
of oil, which went to old-age homes
and other institutions supported by
the JDC in Israel.
Over 1.500,000 pounds of sup-
plies went to Morocco and 250,000
pounds to Tunisia. Haber added.
This included dry milk. corn meal,
flour. oil and wheat.
The foodstuffs had a wholesale
value of close to $315,000 and
