The newly formed Metropolitan
Coalition for -Peaceful Integration
has created- an organization to de-
vekip positive -community - action
to support and -facilitate peaceful
school desegregation in the metro-
politan area. _ -.•
The MCPI is not proposing plans
for desegregation. The. Federal
courts will resolve that problem.
The primary purpose of the Coali-
tion is to make whatever plan is
ordered a succesful and peaceful
one.
The MCPI will plan, develop
and . coordinate throughout the
trl-county area as aggressive
campaign of activities that are
designed to achieve the goal of
peaceful school desegregation.
Among the organizations coop-
erating in the MCPI are the Jew-
ish Community Council, National
Council of Jewish Women and
Interfaith Action Council.

NEW YORK—McGeorge Bundy,
president of the Ford Foundation,
and Avraham Harman, president
of Hebrew University, are among
the personalities who will address
the 1972 biennial convention of the
National Jewish Welfare Board
(JWB), April 12.16 at the Regency
Hyatt House in Atlanta.
The JWB convention has as its
theme "Leadership Communica-
tion." Jewish communal leaders
from across the nation—and sev-
eral from other countries — will
meet with other leaders to discuss
problems of pressing concern both
in their local communities and in
the American Jewish community
as a whole.
Outstanding Jewish youth who
are leaders in their respective
fields will engage in a "Dialogue
with the Future" at an oneg
Shabat.
Avraham Harman, former am-
bassador of Israel to the U.S. and
prestflent-...or Hebrew University
since 1968, will speak at the JWB
biennial banquet April 15. His sub-
ject will be: "A Meaningful Jewish
Future: Hove and Challenge."
Morton L. Mandel, Cleveland - in-
dustrialist and national president
of JWB, will deliver the presi-
dential address.
