A new "course on the practical
aspects of Jewish mysticism is
being taught by Mrs. Seymour
Krause for the second semester
at Beth Israel Religious School.
She has written a booklet entitled
"Practical Aspects of Jewish
Mysticism" and will offer a class
for adults in the fall.

'Shapiro was associated for 17
years, until 1966, with the Ameri-
can Jewish Committee. As national
director of its Jewish communal
affairs department, he helped de-
velop AJC's program to assist Jews
in strengthening their identification
with their own Jewishness.
He has directed surveys of the
attitudes and activities of Jews in
four American cities and in Mexico
City. He has written extensively
on Jewish affairs, on community
relations, on prejudice and on
group identity.
