THE DETROIT JEWISH HEWS

► LitAlt S

VACATIONING IN AcapUlco,
Harold and Heniietta Grayson, of
Franklin, were killing time be-
fore meeting Detroiters Dr. Gerald
and Jo Ann Weingarden at the
Mirador Restaurant . - strolled
the walk-way from their Hotel
Pierre Marquese to the lobby of
the new Princess - Hotel, which
abounded in plush fresh greenery
and beautiful pools . . . Threr
black limousines with Texas lie
ense plates pulled up and Harold
whispered, "I'll bet that's LBJ."
. . . Sure enough, it was former
President Lyndon Johnson, Lady
Bird and their entire entourage,
including a bevy of secret service
men . . . Harold and Henrietta
strained with excitement to get a
full view and he lost his footing
. . . He clutched at Henrietta and
both fell into four feet of water
. . . A gent standing by asked
Harold what he was doing in the
water all dressed up . . . Isis
mustache and van dyke twitching
with impatience, Harold replied,
"Would you believe I'm making
a telephone call?"

SAM FENTON CAN BE thank-
ful for a real miss by a golf ball
while recently at El Conquistador
in Puerto Rico . . . A shot by an-
other player landed one inch from
his temple . . . Was the start of
a lucky streak ... came home and
won a TV and golf bag at a local
bash.

BARBARA HELFER of South-
field served her granddaughter
from New York, - seven-year-old An-
drea _Radii, two fried chicken
wings for lunch . . . "Can't I have
something else?" said little An-
drea. "These are nothing but
(hinges."
,
.
BACK TO THE...DAYS of yester-
years . . good 'ones, too . . go
the gala of Infants Service -Grciup,
for their '72 _affair, -April - 30, at
Raleith Hattie ... Who can for-
get Eleanor Riseman as ehoreogra-
pher, director, producer, eta,-for
the members singing and dancing
into the hearts of their audiences.
at Masonic - Temple . . It's here
again .. the setting is different.
so are most of the gals, but the :
ISG'ers' Show at their minuet
dinner-dance brings the same kind
of smile to. a lot of 'folks in th e
audience . . New members, som e
.second generations and even a few
of the "old gang" will be on hand
for the fun festivities that always
mark an Infants Service Group a- -
fair . . . with the cash going to its
work,indigent, retarded and via-
ually-handicaped kids . . Evelyne
Roth and - Gerri. Sklar are dinner-
dance chairmen . . . and Sophie
Shapiro, 1SG president.
