Zuckerman, Schoenbrun to Address Opening
AJCampai0 Dinner; Dulzin Here Wednesday

Paul Zuckerman, national chair-
man of the United Jewish Appeal,
will be guest of honor in his home
community when Detroit officially
opens its 1972 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign-Israel Emergency Fund on
March 22.

The opening dinner will be held
at the Bnai David beginning at
6:15 p.m., Samuel Frankel, cam-
paign chairman, said.

David Schoenbrun, noted news
analyst, will be guest speaker at
the opening dinner. He has re-
ceived awards for his work in
many media — radio, television,
literature. He has roamed the
world as a correspondent in com-
bat during World War II and af-
ter the war for CBS News. He re-
ported the Jewish resistance to
the British, wars in Algeria, Mor-
occo and French Indochina, and
the cold war in Paris and Moscow.
In Washington, he covered the
Kennedy years. An avowed friend
of Israel he champions her right
to exist without harassment from
her neighbors.

Zuckerman has served long on
behalf of the Detroit Jewish com-
munity and became chairman of
the Allied Jewish Campaign in
1961 and 1962. He headed Detroit's
extraordinary effort in the 1967
Israel Emergency Fund which
raised more than $5,000,000 im-
mediately after the close of a

highly successful regular Allied
Jewish Campaign. Vitally inter-
ested in Israel, Mr. and Mrs.
Zuckerman maintain a private re-
sidence in Caesarea, Israel.

Pre-campaign activities will
conclude with a meeting of the
food division on Wednesday, at
a dinner and reception at 6:30
p.m. at Raleigh House. Leon
Dulzin, treasurer of the Jewish
Agency for Israel, will be the
speaker, Division Chairman
Nathan Fink announced. .
