The parerits said they now have
been informed that the UHS board

agenda of March 1 is too full to
accommodate discussion of the
Borman question. However, a
meeting will be called Sunday
morning with some executive bo . ard
members, the superintendent and
representatives of the Borman
branch community. At this time,

the parents will be able to express
their concerns.
The appeal by the children, age
9-12, was in the form of two let-
ters, each signed by the students.
One sent by the older children said
"The closing of the Borman branch
. . . is distressing to the children
of the school. For four year, I and
my schoolmates have gone to this
school, and we would like to grad-
uate from this school . . . We feel
attached to this school, because
we like the Borman branch and
its teachers. Another reason is
that it's the only school in the
vicinity and serves much of De-
troit, so you can see why we want
it kept open."
The younger children, age 9 and
10, commented that "in the Bor-
man, we learn our culture and
heritage and language. But now

. . . we'll have to go elsewhere,
and we don't want to, so please,
help us in a fight to keep up the

school."
