NEW YORK — The federations
and welfare funds throughout the
country, which collect and allocate
funds for general Jewish -Communal
needs, have been put on notice by
the leaders of the United Syna-
gogue of America that its growing
chain of day schools must now
begin to share in disburse-
ment of funds for Jewish education.
Jacob Stein, president of the
