Collegians Plan Lecture, Weekend at

The Michigan Association of
Jewish College Students will pre-
sent- an evening with Dr- Moshe
Sharnn, historian and faculty mem-
ber of both the Institute of Asian
and African Studies of the Hebrew

University and the Department of
Arabic at Bar-llan University, 7:30
p.m. Tuesday at the Jewish Cen-
ter 10 Mile branch.
As a major in the Israeli Forces,
Dr. Sharon serves as senior official
in charge of veteran affairs in
the occupied territories of the West
Bank. -
He will speak on "The Relation-
ship of the Israeli Government to
the Arab Minority of the West
Bank."

The Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation
at the University of Michigan and
the Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies of Detroit announce their
series "An Inquiry Into the Condi-
tions- and Consequences of Jewish
Existence," will continue in March
with "Jews and -Christians: The
Failure of Accommodation."
On March 21, Rabbi Max Kapu-
stin, adjunct professor of Near
Eastern languages at Wayne State
University, will explore "The
Thal, Last Supper and Crucifixion
of Jesus of Nazareth"
On March 23, Dr. Eliezer Berkov-
its, chairman of the department of
Jewish philosophy at the Hebrew
Theological College, Skokie,
will speak on "The Jewish-Christian
Dialogue."
The series concludes in April
with a look at "Mesjdanism and
the Roots of the Zionist kxperi-
emu." On April 10, Dr. Robert
Masan, Melton Professor of
Jewish History and Studies at
Ohio State University, will ex-
plore "The Jewish People and
the Land of Israel: The Dy-
namics of an Extra-Territorial
Relationship."
• Prof. Jacob Lassner, chairman
of the department of Near Eastern
languages at Wayne State Univer-
sity, will discuss "Jewish Messi-
anic Strivings: The Islamic Experi-
ence" on April 11.
On April 13, Dr. Isaac E. Bar-
zilay, professor of Hebrew lan-
guage and. literature at Columbia
University, will deliver the final
lecture of the term on "The Roots
of Zionism in the 19th Century."

legiate weekends will be held Feb.
18-20 at Camp Tamarack, Orton-
ville.
Co-sponsored by the Wayne State
University Hillel Foundation and
the Jewish Center, this weekend is
open to. all Jewish college students.
Theme of the weekend is "The
Source, the Way and the Goal."
There will be traditional and
creative services, workshops,
talkshops, a Saturday night party
and the "Mighty Kosher Art
Players."
Among the guests at the week-
end will be Dr. Leonard Moss,
professor of anthropology and so-
ciology at Wayne State; Ron Mac-
Donald and Abraham Ben-Zeev.

Alan Lenhoff, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sidney Lenhoff of Bridge
Way, Farmington, has been elect-
ed editor of the Michigan Daily at
the University of Michigan, where
he is a junior majoring in journal-
ism. Lenhoff, 20, was graduated
from Southfield High School.
Having started on the Michigan
Daily staff in his sophomore year,
Lenhoff was night editor before
he assumed the editorship.

Young Adult Labor Zionist
Chapter to Hear Latest
Developments in Israel

Marvin Berris, chairman of Han,
young adult chapter of the Labor
Zionist Alliance, announces the
111 next meeting will be held 8:30
p.m. Feb. 19 in the Labor Zionist
Institute. Amotz and Nurit Peleg,
Sahlikhim from Israel to Habonim
Labor Zionist Youth, will speak
on "Israel 1972: Russian Immigra-
tion, Black Panthers, Experiences
of American Students in Israel and
Israeli Students in America."
An executive board meeting will
follow. On the board, in addition
