LONDON (JTA)—Joseph Lovin-
ger, chairman of the Jewish corn -
munity in Greece, told the Jewish
Telegraphic Agency that the 5,000
Jews in Greece. constitutz a stable
community.
Lovinger, here

of the World Jewish Congress, said
some Greek Jews still emigrate to
Israel occasionally, but that all
who wanted to live in Israel had
gone there many years ago.
There had never been any im-
pediment to aliya from Greece, he
said, nor any Jewish problem. As
far as the Jews are concerned,
the change of regimes makes no
difference.
It is Jewish education and Jew-
ish identity that is -of concern to
Jewish leaders in Greece, he said.
The Jewish population is located
in Athen s, Thessalonika and
Larissa.
