man, is one of the big reasons for
the good food and service in the
clubhouse at Northville Downs .. .
President Leon Slavin can be
rightly proud of the food and serv-
ice - it's excellent .. . and the
surroundings are most conducive
to comfortable enjoyment . . . Not
being much of a betting man, we
can't talk about the nags as Leon
or say writer Al Coffman, but it's
sure a swell place to go for a
beautiful meal . . . Lots of folks
we bumped into out at Northville
recently were ther for the same
reason, perhaps putting a couple
of dollars on some harness toter
just to make things interesting .. .
Mr. D (Max DeLosh), barber
stylist of note, sitting with Ben
Fenton, was way ahead of the
game and enjoying the plush club-
house facilities . . . Getting back
to Leib, he's like Leon - a stickler
for customer satisfaction . . . The
food and service has to be the best
and the prices reasonable if they
have anything to say about it -
which, of course, they do . . . We
had a plece'of prime rib that made
our taste buds tingle from the first
bite . • It was cooked exactly
how we like it, medium rare, and
served in it manner that makes
food taste even better . . . Our
waitress was excellent . .. very
polite . . . Northville Downs is on
7 Mile Rd. past Middiebelt, and it
took us only 25 minutes to get
there from Nine and Greenfield in
Oak Park . . . Strange to talk
about good food and service at a
race track, but Northville Downs
is a very pleasant experience!
EXTREMELY TALENTED and
versatile Bob Anderson and the
very fine Billy Stevenson trio end
up New Year's, Eve on the band-
stand at Ken Badalament's Winery
on Park and Adams . . . Bob has
come Out on a single, "Brother,
"Where Are You"/"She Didn't Tell
Me" which has already hit the
stands and radio stations . . . The
label is a new one, Rap-City,
owned by Dan Rappaport.
DO YOU KNOW the difference
when buying a steak at a res-
taurant? . . . The meats are
