Reuben Silvers to Return to Detroit for Haar Foundation Presentation Dramatic artists Reuben and Dorothy Silvers, directors of the Karamu Theater in Cleveland, will be featured in the second Moishe Haar Memorial Foundation event of the season 8:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Jewish Center. Their theme will be "Portraits in Light and Shadow," dramatic readings with a contemporary Jewish perspective. Both former Detre:ters, Silver learned acting from Moishe Haar Miss Shapiro to Wed Dr.- Mindlin in Spring. at the Sholom Aleichem Institute, of which he is a graduate. From age 8, Silver performed in both children's plays, and adult programs, and he credits Mr. Haar's gifts as a director and his sense of theater discipline with influencing his own career. Silver appeared with professional touring companies in performances at Littman's People's Theater on Twelfth St., the Wilson Theater and others. He also appeared in programs of dramatic readings before a wide range of Jewish or- ganizations throughout the area.
