Security Prisoners Freed from Jail; Israel Ready for Exch ange With Egypt

dreds" of security prisoners and
administrative detainees have been
released from custody in recent

Dayan disclosed that Israel had
approached every international
institution and many influential
persons all over the world in ef-
forts to secure Achikar's release.
The returned four Egyptian sol-
diers and six civilians were cap-
tured during an Israeli commando
raid on Shadwan Island in the Gulf
of Suez on Jan. 22, 1970.

The number of persons de-
tained on administrative orders
has declined from 1,300 to 520
at present.

of the International Red Cross,
raised hopes here that Egypt would
soon return four Israelis captured
during the past two years. Two of
them are pilots—Lt. Dan Avidan
