JERUSALEM—Pioneer Women
announced the completion of one
large community center and the
cornerstone laying of another in
Israel this month. Both projects,
a community center-day nursery
in Jerusalem, and day care center-
women's club building in Haifa,
are designed to serve the settlers
of the immigrant neighborhoods in
which the centers are located.
The Mae Boyar Community
Center in the Talpiot section of
Jerusalem was built through the
efforts of the Los Angeles Council
of Pioneer Women with the help
of California philanthropist Lou
Boyar, •in memory of his wife.
The -Haifa nursery and women's
club building will be constructed
in Kiryat Motzkin, an immigrant
quarter of the port city. A project
of the Greater Miami Council of
Pioneer Women, the $70,000 insti-
tution will be located in the heart
of a new housing development.
