By Jewish News Special
Correspondent
NEW YORK—His fellow citizens
from Detroit were first to honor
Paul Zuckerman on his attaining
the top laurels in philanthropic
leadership in this country—the na-
tional chairmanship of the United
Jewish Appeal.
A group of Detroiters, having
registered as delegates to the na-
tional conference of the United Jew-
ish Appeal now in session at the
New York Hilton, left for New
York a day—in some instances two
days—earlier to participate in a
special evening of acclaim for their
townsman, who by dint of hard
work for the major philanthropic
Jewish cause, gained the top spot
in leadership among the country's
fund-raisers.

The Detroit group attended a
banquet in Zuckerman's honor,
held at the Park Lane Hotel
Wednesday evening.
