COUPLE OF FAVORITE
STORIES . . . Harry Levenberg's
at Andersen's Gardens is of the
flashly character barging into the
local bar, demanding a double
jigger of scotch, downing it in one
gulp, plunking a five dollar bill
on the counter and walking out
without another word . . , The
bartender folded the fiver care-
fully, pocketed it, and remarked
to the .bar flies, "Can you beat a
phony like that? Laps up a double
Scotch, leaves a five dollar tip
and beats it without paying!"
SAM GILBERT, at Saksey's,
tells of the husband returning home
late one night in it rather inebriat-
ed state and handing the wife his
pay envelope. She opened it, looked
Inside and shouted, "This is only
half your salary. Where's the
rest pf It? I bought something for
the House," he explained. "Oh,
Chow nice," smiled the spouse.
"What'd you buy?" Her husband's
reply, "A round of drinks."
