Israel Bonds Are Bought by Catholic University

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (JTA)
—Seton Hall University, a leading
Catholic institution, has purchased
$250,000 in Israel Bonds.
A spokesman for the Israel Bond
Organization told the Jewish Tele-
graphic Agency that this is "by
far the largest 'purchase by a
Catholic institution in this coun-
try," Msgr. Thomas G. Fahy,
Seton Hall University president,
said the university purchased the
bonds "as a demonstration of its
confidence in the future of this
democratic state in the Middle
East."

high school seniors in Kent County
to have reached the semifinals in
the National Merit Scholarship
competition. He is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Sidney Mossman of East
Grand Rapids.

of Grand Rapids, died Oct. 22 at
age 81.

city. The widow of Josepli Ber-
man, she was a member of Cong.
Ahavas Israel, Hadassah and Bnai
Brith Women. A son, Percy, is a
leader of the Grand Rapids Jewish
community.
Surviving besides Percy are son,
Lester and a daughter, Mrs.
Archie (Leona) Freedman, both
of Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs.
Manuel (Bessie) Kaplan of De-
troit; and 10 grandchildren. Inter-
