Beth-Sheva Laikin.
Directs 1st Musical
I
Schooled in the literature of
Sholem Al eiche m, Beth-Sheva
Laikin is directing "Fiddler on the
Roof" for Center Theater. The
musical will be presented Nov. 27,
28, 30 and Dec. 1, 2, 4 and 5 at
the Jewish Center.
Center Theater's first musical
production will be under the direc-
tion of pianist Bernie Katz. His
career has been a "mixed bag,"
ranging from classical to rock. He
is currently appearing at Pietro s
Restaurant in Detroit.
The lead of Tevye will be played
by Don Bliss, who has been in many
musicals and been soloist with the
Detroit Symphony and the Grosse
Pointe Symphony orchestras. Joyce
Fuerring, Golde, has been seen
in the Golde role in Center Thea-
ter's 1965 presentation of "Tevye
and His Daughters," the original
play from which "Fiddler" was
adapted. Also featured in the cast
are Leonard Brown, Rosins Weiss-
man, Devorah Eizikovic, Barbara
Paul and Cris Becker.
