Series of Temple Beth El this eve-

Dr, Spicehandler, who will speak
on "Israel's Intellectual Explo-
sion." is director of. Jewish stUdies
at the HUC Biblical and Archeolog-
ical School, Jerusalem. He was or- .
dained at the Hebrew Union Col-
lege and in 1951 earned the degree
of doctor of philosophy. In 1962, he
was awarded a Fulbright Fellow-
ship for study in Iran.
He has published articles in a
