Akiva
Action Line

By GARY TORGOW
I attended Akiva Hebrew Day
School for four years, with the
exception of last year when I at-
tended a public junior high school.
This year I'm in the 10th grade
and am once again attending
Akiva.
Akiva has changed quite a bit
since I've been there. It's in a new,
more spacious and comfortable
building. Its teachers are excep-
tionally good this year. The school
has many new students who are
both welcome and needed. An-
other big change in my eyes is
that - Akiva has a new principal,
Rabbi Werner: He is a wonderful
person and a great principal who
relates to each and every student
from kindergarten through the
10th grade.
To me, Akiva teaches more
than just Hebrew and general
studies. It teaches us to be proud
of our Jewish heritage and to
hold our heads high and say "I
am a Jew" and I'm proud of it.
As a student who has attended
both public school and Akiva, I
feel that the best place for me and
a lot of other people is at Akiva
Hebrew Day School.

Bnei Akiva Gathering Set

Bnei Akiva, youth arm of Miz,
rachi, will meet 7:30 p.m. ThurS-
day in the sukka at the home of
Vivian and Barbara Eskin, 29300
Pinetree, Southfield. There will be
refreshments and discussion of
Bnei Akiva's future. All teens in
grades 9-12 are invited.

bold man strikes for double value
and compromises at par.
