Something special, and we suggest
an apple strudel. A strudel is a
_rolled-uP cake filled with a variety
of fruit. The filling is tender and
moist, while, the dough enveloping
it is crisp and flaky. This combina-
tion makes the strudel mouth-
watering indeed. Our strudel is a
somewhat shorter version of the
old-fashioned one, the one where
the dough is stretched till paper
thin. We prepare a dough similar
to a pie-crust dough that tastes
good and is very manageable. We
fill this' strudel with apples and
raisins—traditional elements of the
holiday season.
For two 15-inch-lOng strudels:

Place the strudels with their smooth

7. Mix the egg with water, stirring
well. Brush the tops of the strudels
with- this mixture. Using a sharp
knife, make diagonal one-inch cuts on
top, about one inch apart. This will
prevent the strudels from bursting
while baking.
