TEL AVIV (JTA)—A. new dissi-
dent -group.calling itself "Pan
thers" has surfaced here.
Unlike the Black Panthers of
Jerusalem, it is directed not so
much against poverty as against
the domination of Jews of Euro-
pean and Western _origin in Israeli
life.
Spokesmen for the group held a
press conference in a-local coffee
house and unveiled their insignia,
which is not a panther but a sign
with the Hebrew word, "Enough.
"E nough of discrimination,
enough of imposing the Eastern
European Jewish way of life on
Israel, whether it's eating habits or
it's the way of- pronouncing He-
brew," the new Panthers said.
The group includes several Ash-
kenazi (Europeanl Jews, as well as
Sephardim (Orions's) and not all
of them are from the deprived seg-
ments of society.
,,-Meanwhile, an• 18-year-old girl
soldier who used an army stencil-
ing machine to make - handbills for
Israel's Black Panthers 'has been
discharged from the army.
Sharona Bean was given a sus-
pended sentence by an army court
martial and immediately dis-
charged.
