The Comniission on Social Ac-
tion of. Reform Judaism, - a joint
body of the Union of Anierican He-
brew Congregations and Central
Conference of American'llabbis,- in
a statement said that they were in
communication with other religious
groups and clergymen and hoped

For Greater Detroit, the formal
dedication of the new Manufactur-
ers Bank Huilding; 411. W. La-
fayette, conducted at several
events this week, served to rekin-
dle confidence in Detroit's future.
This was the common ground on
which all elements in the city met
to view the magnificent structure
and to commend the bank's offi-
cers.
Roland A. Mewhort, chairman of
the Manufacturers board, took oc-
casion, at a dedication dinner Tues-
day, to • commend the architect,
Louis Redstone, for his firm's
magnificent work on the building.
Redstone spoke briefly at the
dinner, reviewing the several years
of research and planning by his
Organization.
Of note in the new building is
the -sculptural creation of Sam-
uel A. Cashwan, the 16-foot
stainless steel stabile, a stable
abstract sculpture that is sus-
pended in the main lobby of the
building. It is described as be-
ing reminiscent of an evergreen
tree.
The new Manufacturers Bank
building is a nine-story structure
that serves as the central core for
the bank's 71 branches.
