I plead, therefore, to advocates

Rabbi Eakin Commended
for Effort to Help 15rovide
a Mobile Synagogue

Editor, The .Jewish News:
In the news item, "Israel Sol-
diers Get Mobile Synagogue," I
should like to point out that Rabbi.
Herbert S. Eskin of Southfield was
instrumental in raising the funds
and procuring the materials for
these mobile units.
During a visit to Israel morn
than ' a year ago, Rabbi -Eskin
volunteered to arrange for the
shipment of mobile synagogues to
the Israel Defense Forces at the
specific, request of Rabbi Shiomo
Goren, chief chaplain of the Is-
raeli Army, at that time.
-Without fanfare or publicity'
'Rabbi Eakin has made an impor-
tint contribution to the spiritual
morale of the Israeli soldier.
