Zedek Community Medical Center, will form an integral part of the
opposite- Mt. Herzl here. _ center.
The present hospital was con. -
structed in 1902. Capacity of the
new center will be doubled to
549 ,beds. A research - center,
nursing educational center, -out-
patient clinic and other.Uncinary
functions wilt - be included.' .
The new facilities will allow the
' concept of- 'community medicine
to bridge the gap between the
hospital, the private ' physicians
and the people. Physicians, nurses,
physiotherapists and social work-
ers will take the-skills of the hos-
pital into patients' homes' in a
highly developed program of home
care treatment ,

The center, over 'eight stories
tall, will 'have as its nucleus an
ultra-modern patient facility with
specialized units for intensive thera-
apy, coronary and emergency
care. A school Of nursing, outpa-
tient clinics, diagnostic clinical
laboratories and all other.ancillary
services will be - located in adja-
ent buildings.
