Mahler, president of the Jewish Home for- the Aged, announced Tuesday that the Home accepted a $250,000 gift from the Prentis family for the expansion of a new unit acquired in South- field. - Mahler said that, to honor the memory of the late Meyer L. Prezi- tis, the newly acquired unit will be knowil as the Meyer L. Pren- tis Manor. In memory- of the deceased phil- anthropist, who for many years was active in the Jewish Welfare Federation and its campaigns, Temple Beth El, funds for cancer research, - the Joint Distribution Committee and other causes, nu- merous memorials have been es- tablished at Wayne State Univer- sity, by the Detroit Cancer So- ciety and other movements. The Meyer L. Prentis Can cer Center was established in May with a very generous gift made by the family.
