Jewish Agency Housing Committee to Train
Personnel for New Building, Chairman Vows

JERUSALEM (JTA)—The hous-
ing committee of the reconstituted
Jewish Agency can help Israel in-
troduce new methods of building,
especially industrialized housing,
committee chairman Jack D.
Weiler of New York said in his
report to the agency's board of
governors.
Weiler promised that the com-
mittee will provide help in financ-
ing and in training personnel in
instituting new methods and in
simplifying 'existing methods. He
said he was convinced that in a
short time the committee will be
able to show results in housing
progress.
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency
learned, however, from sources

close to Housing Minister Zeev
Sharef that the differences between
him and Weiler have so far not
been resolved.
Weiler champions American-style
mobile homes for new married
couples in Israel, 9 per cent of the
population. Sharef contends that
factory-built housing is not the
answer, as Israel's roads and
means of transport are not as ad-
vanced as in the United States.
