Some 280 students from around the world attended the five-day conference, organized by WUJS, a federation of Jewish student organizations in more than 30 countries. Shaarey Zedek, South- field, Marilyn Chicorel and David Megdell were united in marriage by Rabbi Irwin Groner and Cantor Jacob Barkin. The couple's parents are Mr. and Mrs. David Chicorel of Miller Rd., Oak Park, and the Joseph Megdells of Hawthorne Dr., Flint. After a Hawaii honeymoon, the Megdells plan to live in Flint. The bride wore a gown of peau de soie with a drop shoulder bodice of peau d'ange lace. The Empire waist was accented with side bandings of the peau de soie, and a deep border of the lace at the hem was overlaid with oval satin appliques. Tiny beaded ros- ettes marked the back of the gown and secured the chapel-length mantilla of English net bordered in matching lace. She carried a spray of yellow roses and baby's breath. Matron of honor was Mrs. David Askenazy, the bride's sis- ter. Another sister, Judith Chi- corel, was bridesmaid, as was the bridegroom's sister, Ilene Megdell. Flowergirls were Lisa Jo and Adrea Michelle Aske- nazy. The bridegroom chose his bre Jacob, as best man. Ush- er._ zre David Askenarzy, Richard Benison, Peter Goodstein and Sherwin Biesman. Flint Coed Attends Seminar on Culture Gail Wolin was Flint's delegate to an international seminar on Jewish culture and life styles in Philadelphia, Sept. 2-7. The semi- nar, sponsored by the World Union of Jewish Students, brought together 250 Jew- ish students from Europe, Israel and North Amer- ica. The conference took place before Aseret Yemi Tes- huva, the 10 days of soul searching and re-evaluation • that culminate in Miss Wolin Yom Kippur. In- tended to relate in a contemporary way to this tradition, the seminar allowed for an experience in Jew- ish learning and informal inter- action through presentations, work- shops and cultural activities. The communal setting allowed for in- depth exploration into specific problems.
