passed, less than half of the cash
needed to maintain these pro-
grams has been collected.
"Even though an impressive
amount of pledges has been re-
ceived," Ginsberg stated, "the real
success of the campaign — the
humanitarian help it gives to the
people of Israel — lies in the con-
version of these pledges into life-
supporting cash."
Calling the threat to UJA-sup-
ported programs real and immedi-

not succeed, many of these pro-
grams may have to be cut back."
