Beth Israel Congregation of Ann
Arbor announces the appointment
of Rabbi Allan David Kensky as
its new spiritual leader.
Rabbi Kensky, a native New
Yorker, obtained his elementary
and high school' ''"iM"
education at the
Hebrew Institute
of Long Island
and received his
BA from Queens
College in June
1967.
In the rabbini-
cal school of the
Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary, he
was a fellow in Rabbi Kensky
the Herbert Lehman Institute of
Talmudic Ethics. He received the
master of Hebrew literature de-
gree in June 1969 and was or-
dained in June 1971.
While at the seminary he
studied political science at New
York University and earned an
MA in politics in June. He has
been an active member of Clergy
and Laymen Concerned About
Vietnam and Action for Peace,
helped found the University Corn-
munity for Soviet Jewry in New
York and served as 'chairman of
the Freedom Fast for Soviet Jewry
opposite in the United Nations last
year.
For the past two years, he
served as student rabbi in Salem,
N.J., during the High Holy Days.
