Chapel," a gift presented by the
children and grandchildren of Mr.
and Mrs. Hyman Tauber.

The Jewish Educators Council
of Metropolitan Detroit recently
held its annual election of officers
for the new school year 1971-72.
The following directors of edu-
cation were elected: Sidney Selig,
Cong. Beth Shalom, president;
Arthur Asher, Temple Israel, vice
president; James J. Levbarg,
Temple Beth El, treasurer; Gerald
Teller, Cong. Shaarey Zedek, cor-
responding secretary; and Melvin
Sachs, Cong. Shaarey Shomaim,
Windsor, recording secretary.

Elected to the executive coun-
cil were directors of education
Pinhas Fellus, Cong. Beth Is-
rael, Flint; and Martin J. Tatel-
baum, Oak Park. Also included
are Benjamin Yapko, superin-
tendent, United Hebrew Schools,
Southfield, and Albert Karbal,
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.

daughter, Barbara, who is mar-

speaker. A new Israeli movie will
be a feature of the program.
Nathan Wolok is president of the
society. Morris Greenberg is cele-
bration chairman.

The Jewish Education Council is
the professional arm of the heads
of the .community, and Orthodox,
Conservative and Reform schools
in Metropolitan Detroit, including
Windsor and Flint.

Center Young Adults
to Plan Year's Events

The Young Adult Planning Com-
mittee will meet 1 p.m. Aug. 29 in
room 315 of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center, announces President
Phil Katz. Program plans for the
coming year will be discussed.
The committee continues to spon-
sor its weekly Wednesday night
lounge for those aged 18 27.
