paign were begun with a telethon this week. Murray Moss, cam-
paign chairman, said: "The situation in Israel is such that although

(from left) Ronald Goldstein, Joe Bean and Nathan Schafer. Not
shown but also participating was Jack Shaprow. Those who have
not yet been contacted may call the council office, '76'7-5922.

selors are Gail Feinstein, Gail Wolin, Marcia Blum, Marci Gottlieb,

The 1971 season of Camp Mac-
cabee has come to a close., and not
without a little regret frOm the
Flint camp's enthusiastic 76- camp-
ers.
Through the efforts of directors
Mrs. Albert Binder and Mrs.
James Hallem, the Flint Jewish
Community Council and camp
board and staff, youngsters in
three age divisions enjoyed day-
time field trips and activities in
the out-of-doors.
Highlights for the Solelim
(Pathfinders) group, youngsters
age 4-5, were an "un-birthday"
party for all, a magic show,•
trips to the Detroit Institute of
Arts and Bishop Airport and a
carnival complete with games,
an ESP fortune teller and the
Great and Magnificent Swami.
The Tsofim (Scouts) group,
ages 6-7, took field trips to the
Flint Public Library, Sloan Mu-
seum and IMA Mott Farm.
The 8-10 year-olds in the Halut-
zim (Pioneers) division took an
overnight at Sherwood Forest
where they went horseback riding,
swimming, told ghost stories and
roasted marshmallows.
A special feature of the camp
session was the creative shabat
service planned by counselors
Laurie White, Gail Wolin and
Lenny Fink. Friendship was the
theme of the campers' service,
held before parents at Temple
Beth El. An oneg Shabat fol-
lowed.
As its concluding event, Camp
Maccabee gathered the Flint com-
munity for a hootenanny in Bal-
lenger Park. Songs and Israeli
dancing were featured and, not
surprisingly, a good time was had
by all !
