Golden Wedding Date

MR., MRS. JOSEPH LANDSBERG

The Joseph Landsbergs of Green-
field Rd., Southfield, will be hon-
ored at a brunch Sunday cele-
brating their 50th wedding anni-
versary.
Hosts will be their children, Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel Goldenberg and
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Tonkin,
all of the Detroit area.
The Landsbergs, who have six
grandchildren and one great-
grandchild, were married in Sagi-
naw, where Mrs. Landsberg, the
former Rhea Goldsmith, was born.
She is a past president of Detroit
Chapter of CARIH (Children's
Asthma Research Institute and
Hospital) and a member of Had-
assah.
Mr. Landsberg, a native De-
troiter, is a member of Jewish
War Veterans and the American
Legion.

MRS. HOWARD LAZAR

Pamela Joan Hoffman became
the bride of Howard Louis Lazar
in a recent candlelight ceremony
at Cong. Shaarey Zedek. Rabbi
Groner and Cantor Jacob Barkin
officiated.
The new Mrs. Lazar is the
daughter of Dr. and Mrs.,
M. Hoffman of Jeanette
Ave., Southfield. The bridegroom
is the son of Mrs. Ann Davis of
Rensselaer Ave., Oak P -ark, and
the late Mr. Jacob Lazar.
The bride wore a gown of silk
organza and Alencon lace, fea-
turing a detachable train. The
bodice, neckline and cuffs were
embroidered with tiny seed
pearls. She carried orchids and
roses on her consecration Bible.
Mrs. Alton R. Lazar was matron
of honor. Bridesmaids were Ida
Leib, Lenore Libby, Linda Ross
and Mrs. Michael Winkler.
Alton R. Lazar served his
brother as best man. Ushers were
the bride's brothers, Ira and Marc
Hoffman; the bridegroom's broth-
er, R. Samuel Lazar; and Bruce
H. Keidan.
Following a honeymoon in Eur-
ope, the newlyweds are residing
in Berkley.

MRS. JONATHAN JAFFA

Sandra Elaine Pelton and Jona-
than Mark Jaffa were married in
a recent ceremony at Temple
Emanu-El. Rabbis Milton Arm and
Milton Rosenbaum, and Cantor
Simon Bermanis, officiated.
The new Mrs. Jaffa is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham
Pelton of W. 13 Mile Rd., South-
field. The -bridegroom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jaffa of
Roanoke Dr., Southfield.
The bride was attended by Har-
riet Pelton, Debbie Pelton, Sheri
Jaffa, Marilyn Jaffa, JOyee Cohen,
Linda Zacks, Roberta Wainer and
Dahlia Betel.
David Jaffa served as the best
man. Ushers were Jerry Pelton
and Mark Britebky.

DOBROWITSKY-LIFTON: Cathy
Joy Lifton became the bride of
Marc Allen Dobrowitsky in a re-
cent ceremony at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek. Rabbis Irwin Groner and
Mordecai Halpern officiated. The
new Mrs. Dobrowitsky is the
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Herman
Lifton of Melrose Ave., Southfield.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Max Dobrowitsky of Vic-
toria Ave., Huntington Woods.
The bride wore a gown of silk
organza faille with beaded em-
broidered Alencon lace. It fea-
tured an Empire bodice, high neck,

headdress was a jeweled open
toque, to which was attached an
elbow-length silk illusion veil. She
carried white roses on her con-
firmation Bible. Estralee Lifton
served her sister as maid of honor.

Patty Dobrowitsky, Karen Cohen,
Michelle Lif ton and Marlene
Lasky. George Dobrowitsky was
his brother's best man. Jim Lif-
ton, Fred Dobrowitsky, Allen
Diem, Ray Bubbs, Steve Eisen-
berg, Bob Solomon and Mike
Tobes were the ushers. Following
a honeymoon to Europe and Is-
rael, the newlyweds will reside in
Ypsilanti.

Anita Tomarin became the bride
of Charles Marcus Schumer in a
recent ceremony at Beth Shalom
Synagogue. Rabbi Mordecai Hal-
pern officiated. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Tomarin of Pearson Ave., Oak
Park. The bridegroom is the son
of Mrs. Vera Schumer of Meyers
Rd. and the late Mr. Joseph
Schumer. A brunch was held at
the bride's home following the
ceremony, after which the couple
left for a honeymoon at the Con-
cord Hotel and eastern U.S. They
will reside in Detroit.
