along the border, including four
on the Jordanian line compared to
two the previous week; two on
the Lebanese frontier compared to

Syrian line; and seven in the Gaza

An Israeli soldier was killed
Monday morning during a ter-
rorist attack in the Jebaliyah
refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.
A local woman and a baby were
killed in the exchange of fire
following the attack. Two girls
were wounded.
A terrorist was killed and an-
other was wounded and captured
in a clash with an Israeli patrol
north of Jebaliyah an hour later-
Arms and ammunition were re-
trieved from their bodies. The
dead terrorist was on the wanted
list of he Israeli security forces.
Another terrorist on the wanted
list was killed in the Gaza Strip
by an Israeli patrol that shot him
when he refused to stop running.
Three terrorists who kidnaped
three Israeli Bedouins in the Gaza
Strip Saturday were arrested over
the weekend. They were holding
their victims in an orange grove,
when one escaped and called the
security forces. An arms cache
was discovered nearby.

Sunday, both elderly ill women.
Zehava Chodorov, 69, and Caro-
lina Lazar, 70, died of injuries they
sustained when a Katyusha rocket
scored a direct hit on their ward in
the Beth Rivka Hospital, an insti-
tution for the chronically ill.
The other victims, who were

bashi, 5, whose home was struck
by a rocket, and Esther Vitas, 71,
a patient at Beth Rivka. The
search for the perpetrators is con-
tinuing.
Security forces announced the
arrests of several persons sus-
pected of having aided the ter-
rorists in carrying their equip-
ment to within range of Petah
Tikva. On Friday helicopters
spotted the rocket launcher less
than a mile east of the green
line, the boundary between Is-
raeli territory and the occupied
West Bank. Two local Arab boys
who approached the launcher
were wounded by the explosion
of booby traps set by the ter-
rorists.

Terrorist Found Guilty of Six
Murders; Averts Death Due
to Israeli Law Technicality
TEL AVIV (JTA) — What was
probably the longest prison sen-
tence ever handed down by an Is-
raeli court—military or civilion-
was imposed by a Gaza tribunal
Wednesday on 30-year-old Mah-
moud Mussa Yassin, alias Bu
Nimmer, a commander of the Pop-
ular Front for the Liberation of
Palestine in the Gaza Strip.
Yassin was found guilty of six
murders, two of his victims being
Arab women. Captured while try-
ing to rape an Arab girl, he was
sentenced to a life term for each
of the murders, plus 14 years. The
terrorist leader narrowly averted
the death sentence because only
one judge tried his case.
Under Israeli law, the death
penalty can be imposed only if
two or more judges are presiding.
An Arab terrorist was killed in
the Gaza Shati refugee camp in the
Gaza Strip Wednesday morning in
a clash with an Israeli patrol. A
woman resident of the camp was
wounded in the exchange of fire.
There were no Israeli casualties.
Funeral services were held in
Rishon LeZion Tuesday for Pvt.
Zion Gatlin, 21, who was killed
