The new Mrs. Lerner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Mintz of Avon Ave., Oak Park. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Esther Lerner of Toledo and the late Mr. Marvin Lerner. The bride wore a floor-length gown of silk taffeta with a high, fitted bodice. The silk illusion veil was held by a cap of lace and seed pearls. She carried her confirmation Bible, which was covered with lilies and roses. The bride was attended by Edye Fagenson. Arthur Lerner served his brother as best man. Following a honeymoon in Can- ada, Mr. and Mrs. Lerner will live in Ithaca, N.Y. recently installed by Mrs. Sam L upovitch, installation chairman. They are: president, Mrs. Jack Reitman; vice presidents, Mrs. Israel Weisman and Mrs. Harry Stein; treasurer, Mrs. Sidney Wein- berger; and recording secretary, Sadie Adler. * * CLUB ONE, Pioneer Women, will hold its final meeting of the season noon Tuesday at the Work- men's Circle Center. Mr. Kohen Takes Bride, Marilyn Sue Shapiro Detroiter Helps Dedicate Synagogue-Library Center at Israel Children's Village Detroiter Mrs. Marshall M. Miller played an active role in ceremonies marking the dedication of the synagogue-library center which the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods built for the 800 children in the Ben-Shemen Children's Village near here. NFTS President Mrs. David M. Levitt formally presented the building to Aryeh Simon, director of the Ben-Shemen Children's Vil- lage. Mrs. Miller, a vice president of NFTS and chairman of its Ben- Shemen committee, presented the Book of Hope, containing the names of those whose gifts made possible the building of the syna- gogue-library center. The Ben-Shemen Children's Vil- lage was founded in 1927 for orphans of the Russian pogroms and Polish children orphaned in World War I. It has since also served as a haven for child vic- tims of Nazi Germany and the disadvantaged Jewish children of North African countries. In its school, the children, from kinder- garten to college-age, receive aca- demic education combined with agricultural experience. During July and August the FRANKLIN S I D E N GALLERY will feature a changing exhibit of works of art. Outstanding among these are recent large-scale color field paintings by David Tammany, pastel drawings by Sheldon Iden, silkscreen prints by Ron Rae, plexiglass sculpture by Arthur Schneider and newly published prints and multiples by Jasper Johns and Claes Oldenburg. Also exhibited are highlights of the past season's shows. These include plexiglass mobile sculptures by W. Alonzo Allen and neon acrylic paintings by Rocco Lodise.
