Nelson A. Rockefeller was called upon by Agudath Israel of America to sign a bill that would limit the use of the term "kosher style" to products that actually are kosher. Rabbi Moshe Sherer, executive president of the organization, urged that he sign the bill into law in order to "halt the deceptive prac- tice of certain non-kosher estab- lishments and food producers who have cleverly used the label of `kosher style' to misrepresent to the observant Jew their products as kosher." The bill, sponsored by State Sen. Paul E. Bookson and Assembly- man Louis De Salvio, was strongly supported by the legislative com- mission of Agudath Israel from its introduction as "a further step forward in the legislative gains of National Jewish Welfare Board, has been announced by Herbert Millman, JWB executive vice president.
