BBYO Business

The annual installation of Bnai
Brith Youth Organization officers
has been scheduled for June 21 at
Cong. Bnai Moshe. Newly elected
officers will be installed and
various chapter awards will be
given.

The Michigan delegation to dis-
trict convention 1971 is expected
to number more than 70. Partici-
pants depart for Elkhart Lake,
Wisc., June 24.

The AZA Council is holding a
Godol Training Weekend today
through Sunday at the BBYO Con-
ference Center in Belle River. The
weekend is for newly elected presi-
dents of AZA chapters throughout
Michigan and Windsor, and for
newly elected council officers.
Purpose of the weekend is to
train presidents in their duties.
The weekend is planned to foster
new friendships and a good work-
ing relationship between officers
and chapter leaders.

The AZA Council Softball
League will begin Sunday morn-
ing and will be played each
week at Angling Road Element-
ary S c h o o 1, Southfield. The
league will continue throughout
the summer and finish in Au-
gust. Eleven chapters have en-
tered the competition, which
will be divided into two divisions.
Defending Softball League cham-
pion Posen AZA is among those
entered.

BBYO will hold its Sensitivity
and Friendship Mini-Conference
une 11-13 at the BBYO Confer-

ence Center in Belle River, Ont.
Applications are being accepted at
the BBYO office. Youth coordi-
nator for the program is Nancy
Isaacs of Ahava BBG.

Studies for BA Grads

sion, the senate of Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity passed a resolution permit-
ting students who have excelled in
their BA degree studies to com-
mence their doctoral studies with-
out being obliged to obtain a
masters degree.
This program will enable the
student to shorten the course of
his studies by two years.

en-Gurion Appeals to Jewish Youth
to Make Aliya; Urges Hebrew Study ADL to Distribute Film

NEW YORK—A request to Amer-
can Jewish youth to go on aliya
and pursue a thorough Hebrew ,
education beyond Bar Mitzva was
made by David Ben-Gurion, 85-
year-old first prime minister of
Israel, in an article in the 10th
anniversary issue of Olam Hadash,
the illustrated Hebrew monthly in
1 the United States for children
which he helped found.
In an accompanying letter to
Asher Wolk, editor and founder
of the illustrated Hebrew maga-
zine, Ben-Gurion pointed out that
