Bibliography of Zeitlin Works Issued

"Solomon Zeitlin:„ Scholar Laur-
eate," an annotated bibliography,
1915-1970, with appreciations of his
writings, will be published June 2
by Bitzaron, jointly with Dropsie
University Alumni Association.
Written by Sidney B. Hoenig of
Yeshiva University, the reference
work pays tribute to the professor
of post-biblical literature and insti-
tutions at Dropsie. It carries a
foreward by Zalman Shazar, presi-
dent of Israel.
The 300-page volume summarizes
and evaluates the contributions of
Dr. Zeitlin, considered by many to
be the dean of Jewish historians
and the world's greatest living au-
thority on the history of the Second
Temple.
Included are a thorough biblio-
graphical cross indexing of subjects
treated by Prof. Zeitlin in a 55-
?ear period; an annotated bibliog-
...aphy, including 169 pages of sum-
maries of Zeitlin's 400 articles and
books; and appraisals of Zeitlin's
work in 11 different areas by such
authorities as Drs. Emanuel Rack-
man, Harry Orlinsky, Solomon
Grayzel and Ellis Rivkin.

Dr. Sophia L. Halpern, a prac-
ticing physician in Union City, N.J.
for more than 50 years, founded
the North Hudson Hospital's Wom-
