Robert St. John Will Address Annual
JNF Dinner June 17; to Honor Mrs. Adler

Robert St. John, eminent Chris-
tian Zionist, author of many biog-
raphies, including those of David
Ben-Gurion, Eliezer Ben Yehuda,
Abdel Gamal Nasser and others,
will be the guest speaker at the
annual dinner of the Jewish Na-
tional Fund June 17 at Cong. S'haa-

rey Zedek, it was announced this
week by David P. Zack, president
of the Detroit JNF Council.
This year's dinner will honor
Goldie Adler and a forest will be
planted in Israel by the JNF from
proceeds of this dinner.
Since 1939 Robert St. John has
spent the major portion of his
time wandering about Europe,
Africa, Asia, South America and
the Middle East. He has stopped
in many areas long enough to
learn to converse with the peo-
ple in their own language and
has remained in most places
long enough to gain an under-
standing of their hopes, fears,
dreams and problems.
In 1969, he reported from North

he has not personally covered.
St. John has written nine books
on the Middle East. He goes back
to Israel and the Arab countries
each year for fresh material for
books, broadcasts and lectures. He
also has visited Africa many times.
His book "Through Malan's Africa"
recounted the experiences of a
year in the Union of South Africa.
Robert St. John is perhaps best
known for his many years of broad-
casting from Washington, New
York, London and Paris for NBC.
It was this broadcasting that won
him a reputation as a fighter for
peace, justice and freedom.
Reservations for the June 17
dinner can be made by calling the
JNF office, 968-0820.

been= translated into foreign lan-
guages.
His 18th book, "South America
More or Less," was published last
year.
Announcement has been made by
Doubleday and Company that St.
John has been signed to do an
