Harry Sacher, Zionist Leader, Writer; Worked to Obtain Balfour Declaration LONDON (JTA)-Harry Sacher, a veteran Zionist leader and philanthropist who carved a dis- tinguished career as an author and journalist, died here Monday at age 90. Sacher was born in London, educated at New College, Oxford and served on the staff of the Manchester Guardian as an edi- torial and feature writer from 1905-1919. It was as a British journalist that he made important contri- butions to the Zionist movement and the efforts to secure the Balfour Declaration. During his later career he de- voted his time to writing books and essays and was a director of Eileen Wachler, 46; in JWV Auxiliary Eileen Wachler, club woman, died Wednesday at age 46.
