Cooper Resolution Urges
Vietnam Withdrawal
Concerned Young Adults Form
Soviet Jewry Action Committee
State Senator Daniel S. Cooper
(D-Oak Park) announced the in-
troduction of a Senate concurrent
resolution calling on the President
to withdraw U.S. forces from Viet-
nam no later than Jan. 1, 1972
and asking Congress to cease ap-
propriations for continuing U.S.
military involvement in the Viet-
nam conflict.
Sen. Cooper said he will ask the
committee to take early and favor-
able action on the resolution "be-
cause the Vietnam war greatly in-
fluences our ability to develop pro-
,grams beneficial to Michigan cit-
izens."
Formation of a Detroit Soviet
Jewry Action Committee has been
announced, following an organiza-
tion meeting held by a group of
young adults concerned with the
plight of Jews in Russia and else-
where throughout the world.
The committee, a grassroots
movement, will meet again 8 p.m.
Tuesday at the 10 Mile Jewish Cen-
ter, where Daniel Berk will con-
duct a study session drawing on
his experience with Soviet Jews.
All interested persons are invited.
Among the aims of the com-
mittee are the creation of a
speakers' bureau, drawing up of
