ish War Veterans, announces the

p.m. Wednesday at JWV headquar-
ters.

at the JWV headquarters. The post
will act as hosts. Anne Weinstein
and Phil Shapiro. chairmen, are
making plans for Poppy Day, May
27.

Shaarey Zedek Men's Club has designated May 2-2 as Men's Club
Sabbath," during which youngsters will receive kidush glasses at
Sabbath morning services and six veteran club members will be
awarded certificates for their long service at the Cabaret Night that
evening. Participating will be (from left) Murray Kahn, co-chairman;
Dr. Murray Shekter, in charge of the morning awards; Ben Sidlow,
who will receive a certificate; Dr. Daniel Gilbert, chairman; David
Wallace. who will get a kidush glass; Abraham Salzberg, another
certificate recipient; and Myron Milgrom, men's club president.

Irwin Shaw to Be Honored
for 20 Years' Service to Center

The 38th annual meeting of the
Jewish Community Center will be
held 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in the
Center's Aaron DeRoy Theater.
The annual meeting will be the
occasion to honor Irwin Shaw for
20 years of service as executive
director of the Jewish Center.
Shaw will be honored at a
reception immediately after the
meeting. The board of directors
invites the community.
The meeting also will include
the election of the board of direc-
tors.
N. Brewster Broder, president
of the , Center, announced that
plans for the new Jewish Center
at Maple and Drake Rds. will be
discussed by a representative of
the architectural firm of Louis
Redstone Associates.
Another feature of the evening
will be the presentation of spe-
cial awards to Northwest Child
Rescue Women and Sheruth
League, for their many years of
assistance to the Center. North-
west Child Rescue Women has
co-sponsored the Center's pro-
gram for the mentally retarded,
and it is through its help that
this social program has grown.

L. DAVIS. director. New York
Federation of Reform Synagogues,

who is retiring after 45 years in
the Reform rabbinate, including 24
as NYFRS director, graduated
from Johns Hopkins University in
