`Stay on the Job,' Chairmen Ilse Koch's Son
of Campaign Urge Co-Workers Wants Her Name

to Be Rehabilitated

BONN—Ilse Kohler Koch, 'the
Bitch of Buchenwald" who commit-
ted suicide in 1967 in her Bavarian
prison cell, got a "raw deal," her
son believes. He wants her name
rehabilitated.
Uwe Kohler, Mrs. Koch's son,
was born in Landsberg Prison on
Oct. 29, 1947, while Mrs. Koch was
awaiting trial by an American war
crimes tribunal. The widow of a
concentration camp commandant
who was found guilty of corruption
and shot by the SS in 1944, Mrs.
Koch was sentenced twice to life
imprisonment after the war. The
first sentence by a U.S. tribunal
was reduced because of insufficient
evidence, but the second sentence,
imposed by the West Germans;
stuck.
