EL PASO, Tex. — The national commander of the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. appealed for more adequate programs to rehabilitate returning Vietnam veterans addicted to drugs. According to Albert Schlossberg of Milton, Mass., JWV national commander, drug addiction and psychological problems brought on by drug abuse "have reached epi- demic proportions." While praising the army's am- nesty program for drug addicts, whereby a GI can turn himself in and go unpunished if he sub- mits to treatment, the commander termed the program "a way for the army to wash its hands of this enormous problem and throw it into the laps of the Veterans Ad- ministration and other public and private agencies."
