At the dinner in honor of Aaron Droock's 80th birthday, spon-
sored by Pisgah Lodge of Bnai Brith in behalf of Israel Bonds, Emil
Cohen proved an excellent "shaliakh"—a messenger of a great cause
in defense of Jewry and Israel. In his appeal, which was spiced with
his humorous stories, he indicated the needs and succeeded in secur-
ing a number of additional purchasers of Israel Bonds.
Elias Goldberg opened the program which was presided over by
Samuel Leib, and a moving response to Droock for the encomia
showered upon him was one of the evening's highlights.
Presentation of an Israel government gift to Droock was made by
Dr. Richard C. Hertz who also delivered the invocation. Program par-
ticipants included John Anstandig, Sol Moss and Samuel Ravitz, who
represented his son, Detroit Council President Mel Ravitz, and pre-
sented Droock with a resolution of acclaim from the Council. South-
field Mayor Norman Feder sent a declaration naming the day South-
field's Aaron Droock Day.

C. Hertz and Droock; standing: Samuel W. Leib, Elias Goldberg, Harry
Koltonow, Israel Bond chairman of Metropolitan Detroit Bnai Brith
Council; Sol Moss, first vice president of District Grand Lodge No. 6,
