JERUSALEM—A number of Jeru-
salem Hill settlements are receiv-
ing help from the Jewish National
Fund in the form of additional
land reclamation and soil amelio-
ration.
At Kesalon and Zacharia, slopes
are being leveled so that more
houses can be built. Kesalon also
will receive reclaimed land for the
construction of poultry runs. Until
now, the only economic branch of
the village was the cultivation of
fruit trees.
For the settlement of Zanoah,
the M.'? has initiated operations
to reduce the moisture content of
the ground. During the winter
rains, much of the ,land turns into
swamp. In each case, efforts also
are being made to improve the
appearance of the villages.
