66 reporting Jewish hospitals to-
taled more than 641,000 and in
1960, admissions reported by 69
Jewish hospitals were 518,000.
Chenkin cautioned that the hos-
pitals reporting in 1969 are not
in all cases the same studied 10
years earlier.
"While all hospitals surveyed
are under Jewish auspices," Chen-
kin further noted, "services are on
a non-sectarian basis. In many
cases, the bulk of the patients
served are non - Jewish."
The annual, which groups hospi-
tals according to the size of the
Jewish population in the commu-
nity, lists the Albert Einstein Medi-
cal Center in Philadelphia second
in admissions to Mt. Sinai in cities
with Jewish populations of 175,000
and more. The Einstein Medical
Center admitted more than 28,000
patients in 1969.
