Teachers 'Roasted'
at Beth Jacob
Purim Gathering
After the reading of the megila
and breaking of the Fast of Esther
Wednesday, the girls of Beth Jacob
Intermediate and High School and
the staff members met at Beth
Jacob School in the annual Purim
"Rhyme but No Reason" get-to-
gether.
Along with traditional Purim ac-
tivities, students and teachers ex-
changed good-humored barbs in
song with rhyming verse. In addi-
tion, Grade 9 presented a musical
comedy, in which members of the
staff and student body were carica-
tured and spoofed.
On Thursday morning, all girls
of Beth Jacob met for davening,
reading of the megila and Purim
presentations by grades 10, 11
and 12. ,
Each stbdent contributed money
for "Matonot La'Evyonim" (gifts
for the needy) and a little bag con-
taining two fruits for sending of
"Shalakh Monet."
Displayed along the halls this
week was the 60-foot Purim mural
drawn by representatives of every
class, depicting megila scenes.
